Free Medical Iphone Apps: EyeXam

EyeXam Medical Iphone App is an application that lets you run some tests on your patients. The first test is the visual accuity test. It has 2 settings: Near and Far. The second test is color vision. The third test is for macular vision. This app is useful for general practitioners and internists.

Pen My Blog

PenMyblog and PixelPipe are two separate tools for blogging. The first I already described in the last post, the second is the reason that there is a picture in this post. I first post the picture with PixelPipe and then I edit the post with PenMyBlog. Easy. Tools that do both jobs aren't free at the present. Free Iphone tools like those 2 I describe here can help you blog on the move.

PenMyBlog: finally there is a free app for Blogger

There is now a free app for Blogger on the Iphone: PenMyBlog. In fact, this post comes directly from the application. Advantages: blogging on the go from your own Iphone and it is Free. Disadvantages: you cannot upload pics. That is all for now. More cool free Iphone apps to be reviewed soon.

The Iphone is so versatile that you can even post to your blogs using the included browser.
There are many Apps to do this same thing, none are free at this time. But do not worry, your simple browser or even some other more secure browsers like Aquary can let you write your posts.

Facebook App for the Iphone

Do you have a Facebook account and an Iphone? what could be better? To have a Facebook app in your Iphone.
This is a simple application that lets you do the following things inside your Facebook account:
1.- Read the Real Time News about the activities of your friends, groups and applications... and post replies to them.
2.- Watch your profile, your wall, pictures, information, etc (and change those)
3.- Watch your friends profiles, information and pictures
4.- Read your messages (private)
5.- Watch upcoming events
6.- Make notes
7.- Chat (yes, it even has a chat engine)
8.- Watch your friends list
9.- See any requests you have (and get push notifications)
10.- Post on walls (your and everyone else's)
11.- Read any notifications about changes of states, posts to your wall, etc...
Drawbacks:
No video playback on Iphone 3G or Iphone 3GS
You cannot play with your farm or your caffe or anything that requires FLASH player.
Anything else (native Facebook apps and all...) can be done.

Call To Arms MMO appears not to be supported any more.

Call to Arms MMO happened to be so WoW alike that it probably got to shut down its game servers and not offer any more updates to its game engine. This post is just to inform that the game is not available any more in Apple Store (r)

Free Iphone Games: Call To Arms MMO

Call to Arms MMO is one of those games that puts you in the role of a Hero that has to create, develop and defend a medieval city. The story begins when humans find an island where the Orcs lived a thrived and then discover that those Orcs mined a cristal that gave them special powers. Then humans began to invade the island and enslave the Orcs so that they mined the Arcane Crystal for them. This was how the Orc-Human war started.
You can manage every single aspect of your city and your hero and try to survive in this hostile place.

Once you install the game you will be asked who referred you (the ref code) and you can use mine 48501. If you don't use a referral code you won't get any Arcane crystal at the start of the game and things will be much more difficult for you.

Free Medical Iphone Apps Review: uHear (r)

uHear for the Iphone:

People kept telling me that they needed to speak a bit louder to me to have a smooth conversation because otherwise I kept asking about things I did not catch. It was then when I decided that I needed to test my hearing.

I knew the Iphone had a very high quality sound engine so I searched for audiometry and hearing tests and foud a Free Hearing Test app for the Iphone called uHear.
The application has 3 different tests:

• Hearing Sensitivity: It tests how well you can hear sounds on different parts of the spectrum and it tests both your ears.
• Speech in Noise: It tests your capacity to understand spoken language in a noisy environment.
• Questionnaire: It measures your symptoms and gives you a score of how well you are doing.

I tried it and it gave me a surprise result... My hearing was not very good. So I went to the ORL doctor and decided to have a professional audiometry and the results were comparable. I know this tool does not replace the professional diagnostic tools, but it is a very good start... It helped me know that I had a problem and encouraged me to go to the doctor (I am a medical doctor too, but some of us are afraid to seek help for our own health problems)
